One more Serbian NBAer is expected to be absent in the upcoming FIBA World Cup. During the preparation game against Bosnia, Nemanja Nedovic was injured in the right foot. He left Italy and the national team in order to be further examined in Belgrade. According to the initial medical examinations Nedovic needs to stay one month out of action and that means he is practically out of the team.
That’s not the only guard who will miss the World Cup. Turkey’s Birkan Batuk had a surgery after tearing his Achilles tendon in the 74-70 loss to Belgium and he is expected to be back on the court after a four to six months period as his club, Anadolu Efes, announced. However, Nedovic was expected to make the Serbian national team, specially after a great performance in last year’s Eurobasket, while Batuk was not a lock.
