While there are hopes for Nemanja Nedovic, young point guard Vasilije Micic was cut from the Serbian national team due to a knee injury and he will not play in the upcoming FIBA World Cup. The player of Bayern Munich is not expected to recover in time and be ready for action.
As coach Djordjevic examplained: “Even when he went to Munich in order to sign his contract, Bayern’s doctors have diagnosed the presence of fluid in his knee and requested a special rehabilitation program. That’s why he didn’t play in the preparation tournament at Trieste. Due to the lack of guards, because of the injuries of Teodosic and Nedovic, Micic personally insisted to participate in the tournament at Pau and help the team. Unfortunately I can’t count on him for the World Cup. The health of the players is in any case the priority”.
