Nando De Colo’s injury came at the worst timing for France national team. Despite the absence of Tony Parker, coach Vincent Collet had begun to feel more comfortable without San Antonio Spurs’ superstar and De Colo was a key player. Now, he has to change again his plans because of this new important absence.
European champions’ coach decided that Le Man’s Charles Kahudi is the best player to replace De Colo, although he is not a combo guard and his game is quite different.
A member of the “gold team” of France last summer, Charles Kahudi, first reported by Spanish journalist Chema de Lucas, will be the 12th player of France in the upcoming World Cup. That means Thomas Heurtel and Antoine Diot as guards will have much bigger role than they did in the recent past.
