As expected the players have the burden to decide what they will do in the upcoming national team games and the situation between Unicaja Malaga and the Serbian national team is a prime example of this.

According to many Serbian reports Nemanja Nedovic, Dragan Milosavljevic and Dejan Musli are permitted to play on the 27th of November against Georgia, in the second game of the Serbian national team for the November FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

As “Sportski Journal” reported, the assistant of the Serbian national team Jovica Antonic said that the players “got the green light” to play.

However, this is not entirely the case. It’s a fact that the three players will miss the game of the Serbian national team against Austria on the 24th of November. On the same day, they have to play for Unicaja Malaga against CSKA Moscow for the EuroLeague.

The Serbian federation contacted Unicaja, asking for the players to be permitted to play in the second game. According to Eurohoops sources, the answer of the club is that they don’t intend to prevent the players from competing for Serbia, provided that they will be back in Spain for the morning practice of the 28th of November. Practically this can be done, so it remains to be seen what the players will decide to do as also Spanish newspaper “Diario Sur” confirms.

Six more EuroLeague players, Vasilije Micic of Zalgiris Kaunas, Branko Lazić, Nemanja Dangubic and Nikola Jovanovic of Crvena Zvezda, Marko Guduric of Fenerbahce and Nikola Milutinov of Olympiakos are also included in the extended roster of the Serbian national team.
