The news from Eskisehir came after the game of Fenerbahce Dogus against the local team. Fenerbahce’s captain Melih Mahmutoglu who was called in the Turkish national team despite his initial announcement that he will not be available, stated on live television that he may play for the national team after all.
As he said: “We had a difficult period as players for the last one or two months. We were confused. More than anything else in our lives we want to wear the national team jersey. But the situation was peculiar. Now that the roster is announced, I talked to our club and I hope to wear the national team jersey on Friday. I hope this week will be nice for everyone.”
