Everyone expected a big battle between Lithuania and Australia and that’s what happened. Despite a 47-28 “Boomers” lead after the first half, “Lietuva” reacted and made it a four points game (65-61) with eight minutes to go. However, in the end  Australia got a big 82-75 win with Joe Ingles (18 p., 4 as.) and Aron Baynes (14 p., 6 r.) leading the way. Renaldas Seibutis with 21 points tried his best for Lithuania, which was exposed for the first time the tournament by the absence of injured guard Mantas Kalnietis.

Mexico registered its first win after three games in FIBA World Cup with Angola being the victim. Center Gustavo Ayon couldn’t be contained by the Africans and at the fate of the game was sealed with a partial 37-13 score during the first 16 minutes of the second half. The final score was 79-55. Angola tried its best in the first half, which ended with Mexico leading by one point, but in the end they couldn’t keep up with Ayon (17 p., 12 r.). Hector Hernandez was the top scorer of the winners with 24 points.

In the last game of the day Slovenia after leading just by a point in the first half, got the 89-72 win over Korea. With Goran Dragic scoring 22 points, the Slovenians are now all alone at the top of group standings with a 3-0 record, Australia and Lithuana follow at 2-1, Mexico and Angola are at 1-2 and Korea without a win yet.
