The fourth day of FIBA World Cup is over and Eurohoops presents the important numbers from the six games of Groups C and D. Those including great offensive and defensive performances, surprises and disappointments, odds and ends of the stats sheets!

* Angola’s 3point percentage (15%, 4/27) against Mexico is the worst after four days in this World Cup. The second worst belongs to Egypt with 16%!

* Mexico’s FT percentage (93%, 13/14) is the best in this World Cup and one of the best ever.

* The “double-double” players: Gustavo Ayon (17p, 12r), Kenneth Faried (15p, 11r) and Alen Omic (13p, 11r), Eloy Vargas (18p/13r) were great today.

* The special double-double! Omer Asik is on a class by himself, as he did it in just 9:30 minutes (10 p., 10 r.)! He finished the game with 16 points and 20 rebounds.

* In addition Asik’s 20 rebounds (12-8) is a FIBA World Cup record! To be honest, he caught another Turkish player in the first place of the best rebounding performances, Mirsad Turkcan (13-7)!
·
* Time for history. Asik led us to the all time (1994-2014 according to FIBA’s official stats) rebounding records in World Cups. Mirsad Turkcan grabbed 20 rebounds against Russia in 2002, Daniel Santiago, who is still here with Puerto Rico, had 18 against USA in 2002 and Canadian Greg Newton had 17 against Australia in 1998.

* Mexico’s forward/center, Hector Hernandez attempted 10 3points (60%) against Angola. He made 6.

* Lithouania’s super star, Jonas Valanciunas, attempted only three FG in 18 minutes!

* For the second consecutive day Koreans had 8 blocks! Did you know that Korea is the first team of this World Cup in blocks with 7,3 per game?
