France, Serbia and Greece strong – World Cup European Qualifiers Day 2 Monday Recap

France closed Gameday 2 by defeating Bosnia and Herzegovina at home with 84-65. Louis Labeyrie was the man of the match ending with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Edwin Jackson (11 points and 8 rebounds) and Boris Diaw (10 points and 6 assists) contributed to the win. Dzanan Musa struggled from the field as he finished with 1 point (0/8 FG) for the guests.

Russia registered its first victory, by downing Belgium 76-69 with Sergey Karasev’s 14 points and 6 rebounds leading the winners.

The Czech Republic is the only unbeaten team in Group F after its win in Finland (64-56). Center Ondrej Balvin flirted triple-double with 8 points, 16 rebounds, and 7 assists while Blake Schilb contributed with 17 points. Shawn Huff had 13 points for the hosts.

Serbia took control of Group G after dominating Georgia in the second half (105-87). Miroslav Raduljica was impressive as he led Sasha Djordjevic’s men with an international career-high 28 points and 8 rebounds. Michael Dixon put on a show as he finished with 36 points and 9 assists but wasn’t enough for Georgia.

Greece had no problem beating Israel 82-61. After a slow start, the hosts won the next three quarters and got the win. The team effort was the key but Charalampos Giannopoulos (13 points) and Nick Calathes (11 points and 8 assists) led the winners. Richard Howell Jr finished with 13 points and 9 boards for the Israeli side.
