Group B’s top belongs to unbeaten Greece after the great win against Croatia (76-65)! The players of Fotis Katsikaris were rolling and thanks to their team work on defense and offense controlled the game from the very first moment. Bourousis (13p., 10 reb.), Kaimakoglou (14p.), Papanikolaou (14p.) and Zisis (10 assists) led their team to the win. Greece will get the top spot of the group standings with a win in the last game against Argentina.

The two last teams of Group B met and at the end Puerto Rico stayed alive by getting the 77-73 win over Philippines. Despite a 25-12 start by the Gilas, Puerto Rico found the way to come back into the game and finished it with 8 straight points by Juan Jose Barea (75-70). He finished the game with 30 points, playing also for his injured teammate Carlos Arroyo. Andre Blatche had one more big game (25 p., 13 r.) but didn’t have any real support from a team with limited talent, which played more with the instict of the players than anything else. With a 1-3 record Puerto Rico still hopes, while Philippines (0-4) don’t have any qualifications chances.

On the second game of the day, Argentina got the easy win over Senegal 81-46 with a 28-8 fourth quarter. Luis Scola once again was the leader of his team (22 p., 14 r.) in a game decided in the first half (41-25) as both teams have qualified to the next round, Argentina with a 3-1 record so far and Senegal with 2-2.
