Group B: Croatia qualified, Greece on top

After a turmoil that may was manufactured, Croatia answered with a big win over Puerto Rico. The final score was 103-82 as the players of coach Repesa wanted  to give their answer on the court and for sure they did. On the other hand, Puerto Rico without Arroyo didn’t have the options to face a very talented team. Bojan Bogdanovic with 23 points was the top scorer of the winners.

The top of the group belongs to Greece after the big win over Argentina (79-71). Nick Calathes (18 p.), Giannis Bourousis (16 p., 15 r.) and Giorgos Printezis (15 p.) led the charge for the Greeks which didn’t panic when the South Americans cut their lead to two points (70-68) with four minutes to go. Luis Scola with 17 points and 5 rebounds was once again the best of the losing side.

In their last game of the FIBA World Cup and after overtime Philippines finally got their maiden win in the tournament. The final score was 81-79 over Senegal as Ndoye cut the final points difference with a three. The duo of Alapag (18 p., 4 as.) and Blatche (18 p., 14 r.) were the best for the winners who finished the tournament on a high note (1-4). Senegal with a 2-3 record qualified for the second round.
