The sixth day of FIBA World Cup is over and Eurohoops presents the important numbers from the last day of first phase. Those including great offensive and defensive performances, surprises and disappointments, odds and ends of the stats sheets!
* Angola’s center, Yanick Moreira scored 38 points and had 45 ranking in almost 32 minutes, the best individual performance in this World Cup.
* 8+1 “double-double” players tonight, the most until now in this World Cup! Yanick Moreira (38p, 15r), Gorgui Dieng (13p, 14r), Andray Blatche (18p, 14r), Anderson Varejao (15p, 10r), Hector Hernadez (16p, 11r), Hamed Haddadi (22p, 15r), Giannis Bourousis (16p, 15r) and Nemanja Bjelica (19p, 10r).
* The special double-double! Raulzinho Neto is the first in this World Cup, who had a doube-double with assists and points (14-10)!
* Yanick Moreira attempted 24 FG and tied Andray Blatche’s number in first game of World Cup. However, Philippine’s center played 41 minutes against Croatia, 9 minutes more than Moreira. In addition, Mouhammad Faye attempted 23 FG against Philippines tonight.
* The big “fight”. The first “double-double” player, Andray Blatche (21,2p, 13,8r in first phase) faced the second “double-double” player, Gorgui Dieng (18p, 11,4r). As a result we had two “doubles -doubles” in this game! What a surprise!
* Brazil’s 128 points against Egypt is not its best offensive performance in history. They have scored 138 against China in 1990. Brazilians also scored 125 against Italy in 1990!
* Brazil’s 85% (40/47) in 2points is an unbelievable statistic! There are no official stats to say if it is the best number but for sure is one of the best ever in World Cup!
* Mr perfect! Raulzinho Neto was perfect in FG with 7/7!
* A lot of records for Brazil tonight! The 35 assists are their most in this World Cup. France dished up 31 against Egypt.
* Xane D’ Almeida dished up 14 assists against Philippines, the best individual performance of this category in this World Cup!
* Brothers’ stats. Brothers Dragic faced brothers Lavrinovic tonight. The Lithuanians had 16p and 12r, while Slovenians combined for 22p, 7r and 6as!
* Slovenia scored just 2 points in fourth quarter and tied Finland’s worst statistic in this World Cup!
* Greece’s 94% in FT is the best percentage in this World Cup. Mexico’s 93% is the second one.
