The first day of the quarter finals in FIBA World Cup is over and Eurohoops presents the important numbers from the first two games. Those include as usual great offensive and defensive performances, surprises and disappointments, odds and ends of the stats sheets

* Four double-double players in just two games! Omer Acik (11 p, 10 r.), Jonas Valanciunas (12 p, 13 r.), Anthony Davis (13 p, 11 r.) and Kenneth Faried (14 p., 10 r.).

* The bomber! The best performance in this World Cup for Renaldas Seiboutis, who was perfect in three point shots (3/3, 100%). Additionally, Klay Thompson had the most three pointers attempts (8). He made 4 of them.

* Emir Preldzic made the two big shots against Australia (35% per average in 3pointers). However, he finished with 0/4 against Lithuania.

* Lithuania’s coach, Jonas Kazlauskas, has a bronze medal in the Olympic Games (in 2000 with Lithuania), a silver one (in 2013 with Lithuania) and a bronze (in 2009 with Greece) in a Eurobasket. Also, a gold one in a FIBA Asia Championship (in 2005 with China). Moreover, he is one victory far away, from his first medal in a World Cup!

* USA attempted 92 field goals, which is a great number and of course a record for this tournament. In the premiere of the World Cup Philippines had attempted 79 field goals against Croatia in 45 minutes.

* USA grabbed 54 rebounds, which is a also record for this event! Moreover, 24 of them were offensive.

* Up and Down! James Harden’s 17% (2/12!) in two pointers is actually far from his average in tournament (55,6%, 20/36). On the other side, Derrick Rose’s 75% in field goals (6/8) is his best performance in this World Cup and much better than his average (38,2%, 13/34).
