The second day of the quarter finals in FIBA World Cup is over and Eurohoops presents the important numbers from the two big games. As usual those include as usual great offensive and defensive performances, surprises and disappointments, odds and ends of the stats sheets.

* A lot of players were perfect at the free throws line, but Milos Teodosic earned and made the most (10/10). The second on this perfect list for the tournament, Pau Gasol, had 8/8 free throws against Serbia in group phase.

* Déjà vu! Milos Teodosic led Serbia to the semi final, scoring 23 points in 29 minutes. The Serbian point guard was also the man who scored an amazing three pointer against Spain and led Serbia to the semi – finals of the World Cup in Turkey, four years ago.

* Three of four teams of this year’s semi finals, are the same with 2010! Serbia, Lithuania and the USA, which is the last champion.

* France played great defense! During the group phase and the round of “16”, Spain averaged 41 points per game in halftime! They scored just 28 this time! Additionally, they were scoring 88,2 points per game. That means 36 points more than today!

* France qualified to the semifinals of FIBA World Cup for the second time in its history! The first was in 1954!

* France grabbed 22 rebounds more than Spain! (50-28). It’s an unbelievable difference as Spain’s roster includes the Gasol brothers, Ibaka and Reyes in its roster. France’s 16 offensive rebounds is also a great number against this front line.

* Spain didn’t have good percentages in three points shots during this World Cup (30% average), but against France its percentage (9,1%, 2/22) was really disappointing. Rodriguez, Navarro and Fernadez combined for 1/11 3points shots!

* Spain scored just 2 fast break points, during the 40 minutes of the quarter – final.
