The Finnish basketball federation announced today the presence of Markkanen on those two games which are scheduled on the 29th of June and the 2nd of July.
“It’s nice to wear again the Finland jersey in front of our home fans. We have created memories for a lifetime during the Eurobasket games which were played in Finland and now it’s time to create some more memories”, said Markkanen.
Finland has so far a 2-2 record and Markkanen’s presence will be a huge boost for the national team. “We are trying to get the whole gang in full swing in the summer, get two wins and continue the journey towards China”, said Markkanen who is clearly hoping that EuroLeague players, like Barcelona’s Petteri Koponen will be also part of the team for the summer qualifying games.
