Bosnia and Herzegovina took a heavy blow against France losing 102-52 in the first stage of FIBA World Cup Qualifiers but advanced to the second round thanks to Russia winning against Belgium.

Dusko Vujosevic has been a head coach for 33 years leading various teams -primarily known for the success with Partizan Belgrade- and although he had some tough losses, this one, in particular, was very hard for him claiming it was the biggest defeat in his long career: “This is without a doubt the biggest defeat in my career. There are various defeats, but this one is above all. The responsibility falls on me, the players who were there, but also those who canceled the arrival.”, he said after the game, per Bosnian media.

The coach also warned they have to change things in order to be competitive and avoid this kind of defeat in the second round: “This can’t be a good night for those who love Bosnia and Herzegovina. We advanced thanks to Russia’s victory against Belgium, but we got a fierce lesson that the next round could be a big embarrassment unless we find a method and a way to have a complete roster. We didn’t show enough character, firmness, and fight”, Vujosevic finished.
