LA Clippers center Boban Marjanovic put on an excellent performance recording a double-double while missing only one field goal but it wasn’t enough for Serbian national team as opposing Germany made a 13-0 run with a minute remaining to win 88-81.

Marjanovic scored 22 points while adding 11 rebounds plus two assists for game-high 29 PIR. The big man was almost perfect from the field as he made nine out of ten attempted shots in addition to 4/7 from the free throw line. For Germany, Dennis Schroder led the way with 21 points.

With this victory, Germany finished first, in front of Serbia while Georgia secured the final spot in Group G which leads to the second round after a 98-73 rout against Austria. Tornike Shengelia recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds already at halftime giving his team an 18-point advantage (51-33) which kept increasing after the break.

Chicago Bulls forward Lauri Markkanen recorded a new international career-high in a 91-77 win over Iceland, securing the second place for Finland in Group F. That win also pulled Bulgaria to the third place leaving Iceland out of the second round.

One spot was secured yesterday (1/6) as Dario Saric helped Croatia win over Romania and advance.
