30 NBA players joined their national teams during the June-July Window of the Africas, Americas, Asia and Europe World Cup Qualifiers.
Since NBAers were unable to play in the previous rounds of the World Cup Qualifiers due to their obligations with their clubs, it’s not surprising that many participated in the two games held these past weeks. These matches were of the utmost importance since the national teams carry their results in the next stage of the Qualifiers so even the countries that had already advanced needed all the help they could get to finish this round with the best possible record.
Here’s the full list of players, per Marc Stein of the New York Times:
Matthew Delavedova (Milwaukee Bucks/Australia)
Thon Maker (Milwaukee Bucks/Australia)
Buddy Hield (Sacramento Kings/Bahamas)
Dwight Powell (Dallas Mavericks/Canada)
Cory Joseph (Indiana Pacers/Canada)
Kelly Olynyk (Miami Heat/Canada)
