Greece overcame Georgia in their sold-out clash in Tbilisi with 86-85, becoming the first European team to qualify to FIBA World Cup of 2019.
Greece completed a 23-point turnaround to beat their hosts, with an amazing performance by Nick Calathes, who scored 31 points – breaking his record with the National Team.
Tornike Shengelia was Georgia’s pilar once again with 22 points, while the hosts’ Matt Janning and Goga Bitadze also kept the team ahead for the most part.
Greece remains undefeated with 8 wins in Group L, pushing Georgia to 3-5, thanks to this amazing play by Calathes and Kostas Papanikolaou.
