Serbia’s got the job done against Estonia and reignited the squad’s hopes to chase a ticket to the World Cup with their 91-65 victory.
Nemanja Bjelica and Vladimir Lucic were Serbia’s big stars on this win, scoring 14 and 11 points each, carrying their team to a 5-3 record.
Greece outstood Georgia’s pressure and with a buzzer-beater of Kostas Papanikolaou (assisted by Nick Calathes who finished with a career-high in the NT of 31 points) rallied to China.
Germany came back all the way from a large deficit against Israel and grabbed their ticket to China with a win in overtime.
The last entry on the qualified teams is Czech Republic, that beat Bosnia and Herzegovina en route to their first ever qualification straight to the World Cup ever. Tomas Satoransky led the way for the Czechs with 22 points, including a crucial layup with 35 seconds left. Jusuf Nurkic collected 19 points, 15 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals for the losing side, while Dzanan Musa picked up 15 points and 4 assists.
Earlier, France was able to recover from the shock in Bulgaria, adding another victory to keep their qualification dream alive by easily defeating Finland.
