Team USA plans to draw the interest of Duke University sensation Zion Williamson in joining the Americans’ 12-man squad for the FIBA World Cup in China this summer, as reported by Marc Stein of the New York Times.
No contact has yet been initiated per the same report, and will not most likely happen until Williamson officially declares going professional and chooses an agent licensed by the NBA to represent him.
Earlier this week, it was made known that LeBron James won’t make himself available for Team USA this summer in China’s World Cup, so the team could use the strongest support it can get to defend its title.
