The Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse will lead the Canadian national team at the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China, according to Peter Yannopoulos.
Nurse was Dwayne Casey’s assistant for five years before taking over as the Raptors head coach and leading them to a 58-24 regular season record and to the 2019 NBA Finals where they will clash with the reigning champions, the Golden State Warriors.
The 51-year-old American has also coached in D-League prior to his NBA career as well as 11 years in Europe, mostly in the British League, but has never been the head coach of a national team.
