Juan Hernangomez ready to trash talk Jokic at World Cup

The Denver Nuggets bond Juan Hernangomez with Nikola Jokic, but the 2019 FIBA World Cup will separate them.

Serbia and Spain will likely face each other in the second round of the 2019 FIBA World Cup in Group J action and this match will be special for both Nikola Jokic and Juan Hernangomez. The Denver Nuggets teammates will be opponents for the day. Their paths at China might cross again in the third place game or even in the gold medal affair. In any case, Hernangomez declared he’s ready to trash talk his captain via CBS Denver.

“I think for sure we’re going to play Serbia with Joker. I’m going to try to talk a lot of s— to him” the 23-year-old Spaniard forward mentioned and when asked about the language of communcication he confessed Jokic has already tough him Serbian words useful for the situation. “I know all the bad words and I’m going to use them against him.”

On his availability after recovering from his core muscle injury, he said: “Right now I’m feeling great. I started running last week and have been spending a lot of time with the trainers. Every summer I try to keep working hard, work on my game, work on my body.”

“It’s the first time since eight years ago that I can rest more than 15 days. My body feels rested. I’m excited to go for the National Team. I’m excited to play against the best players in the world” he added.

On reuniting with his brother Willy within the Spanish National Team, he said: “I’m excited to play with my brother. I think it’s going to be fun.”
