French national team head coach Vincent Collet believes that two countries from Europe will win medals in the 2019 World Cup.
When asked about the goals of France in the World Cup, Collet said that the immediate goal is to be one of the two European national teams that will get ticket for the 2020 Olympic Games. Making the semifinals might not be enough though since Collet feels that we will see three countries from Europe on the podium

“The goals are high but mostly driven by the Olympic Games goal. The objective of the Federation is to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics and that’s also the goal for this France team. Which doesn’t prohibit anything. We can go as high as we can, knowing that there are two ways to qualify for the Olympic Games. The one that I prefer, of course, is the direct one, but also the shortest one: To be one of the two best European countries in the World Cup. To speak clearly, in my opinion, to at least be in the semifinals. And that’s not even guaranteed because it’s quite possible that there are two European teams on the podium.”
The two top teams from Europe and America, plus the top team from Africa, Asia and Oceania will advance to the Olympics.
