Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond and L.A. Clippers forward/center Montrezl Harrell have withdrawn from the training camp of Team USA for the 2019 World Cup.
Drummond had been named to the original preliminary roster of the team while Harell was invited to join the training camp roster on July 25.
Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo and Memphis Grizzlies forward Jarett Jackson have officially joined the squad to cover for the aforementioned absentees.
Team USA has suffered many withdrawals of players, including such players as L.A. Lakers forward/center Anthony Davis, Houston Rockets guard James Harden, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum plus Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love.
The preliminary squad now features Harrison Barnes (Sacramento Kings); Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics); Kyle Kuzma (Los Angeles Lakers); Brook Lopez (Milwaukee Bucks); Kyle Lowry (Toronto Raptors); Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks); Donovan Mitchell (Utah Jazz); Mason Plumlee (Denver Nuggets), Julius Randle (New York Knicks); Marcus Smart (Boston Celtics); Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics); P.J. Tucker (Houston Rockets); Myles Turner (Indiana Pacers); Kemba Walker (Boston Celtics); and Thaddeus Young (Chicago Bulls).
