The Serbian Basketball Federation announced that forward Milan Macvan departed from the training camp ahead of the 2019 World Cup to travel to Japan in order to join his team, Toyota Alvark, in agreement with national team head coach Sasha Djordjevic.
“We owe a great deal of gratitude to Milan Macvan who has given his maximum in the preparation so far,” Djordjevic said per the Serbian Federation. “It’s not easy to return to full competitive form after an injury that forced him to stay off courts for over a year. We have evaluated that at this point, it’s better for him to continue his preparations for the new season with his new club. We expect Macvan in the next ventures of the national team.”
In the meantime, center Nikola Milutinov reported a problem with his back. Initially, there were fears that the big guy of Olympiacos could be out for even six weeks, but the examinations he underwent revealed a minor injury that will require just a few days of rest, per Mozzart Sport.
