Hopes that Milos Teodosic’s injury is not serious were submerged by the scheduled MRI on Sunday that revealed the extent of the damage he suffered. Eurohoops learned that the Serbian national team’s medical staff informed the 32-year-old guard that he will not be able to recuperate in time and represent his country in the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
Teodosic exited Saturday’s home exhibition match versus Lithuania due to foot pains. Following the game, Sasha Djordjevic admitted that he is worried and his worst fears were confirmed a few hours later upon the conclusion of the medical exams.
After his NBA stint with the Los Angeles Clippers, Teodosic made his way back to Europe joining Segafredo Virtus Bologna. However, participating in the World Cup with Serbia was at first set to be his official return to action.
