Serbia showed strength and prevailed over Lithuania with a 95-91 victory in Kaunas, in a tough battle ahead of the FIBA World Cup that tips off late August.
Bogdan Bogdanovic was the key player for Serbia, as he added 27 points and five assists during his 31 minutes on the floor. Nikola Jokic also scored in double-digits, adding 14 points along with five rebounds and five assists.
Jonas Valanciunas was the leading scorer for the hosts, with 18 points and seven rebounds in 19 minutes.
After the game, coach Sasa Djordjevic confirmed that Milos Teodosic has already traveled to Bologna to start therapies for his injury.
According to Djordjevic, there are still hopes that Teodosic might make it to China. However, if he missed the tournament – which according to Eurohoops sources is certain – “it would be a big blow for us”, as the coach of the Serbian national team said.
