The FIBA World Cup is just a few days away and things are already “heating up” between the teams.
Serbian NT head coach Sasha Djordjevic talked about a possible match-up with Team USA, and specifically mentioned “may God help them”.
Kemba Walker of Team USA though is “fine with a little bit of trash-talking”, as he told ESPN.
“I could care less, man. Honestly, we’re going to take it one game at a time. At the end of the day, we both have to make it to a certain place for us to even play each other. I guess when we get there, if we match up, then we’ll see what’s up. But it’s fine. I’m fine with a little bit of trash talking. I don’t mind it at all.”
Earlier on, Gregg Popovich also commented to Djordjevic’s statements. “People will talk but it’s usually not something I respond to”, he said among other things.
