Brazil is gearing up for the 2019 FIBA World Cup and Group F action versus New Zealand, Greece and Montenegro. However, Bruno Caboclo is particularly excited for one of those three first round games. He explained to FIBA that the he can not wait to face Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“Obviously, he is one of the best players in the world and was named the NBA MVP this past season, but I treat him like any other player” the 23-year-old Memphis Grizzlies forward mentioned. “To play against him will be a huge challenge for me, but I am looking forward to the challenge.”
“I am ready to play for the national team again” Caboclo added ahead of his World Cup participation with Brazil and explained: “I do not think I am in great shape just yet, but I will be working hard and I am sure that I will be able to help Brazil achieve a big result in the World Cup.”
In conclusion: “I look at my return to the national team as if it were my first time. Last time I played for Brazil I was a bit immature; it does not count to me. It is now a new chapter in my life now. From now on I will always be ready to help my country.”
