FIBA, the International Basketball Federation, has taken an innovative step with the launch of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 digital card game ahead of its much-anticipated flagship event in China.
The game will pit basketball fans one against another on multiple social media platforms, both in China and across the world, in a quest to earn new cards to assemble the most formidable lineup in the World Cup and climb the global leaderboard.
The FIBA Basketball World Cup Card Battle combines elements of head-to-head strategy, basketball knowledge and quick thinking in an action-packed card collection game that offers a highly entertaining and captivating experience.
Users will have a chance to select up to three different lineups, engage in trades and play against other people in a dynamic card battle game, with the card ratings reflecting players’ on-court performances in China around the clock.
With the long-awaited World Cup tipping off on August 31, the FIBA Basketball World Cup Card Battle is now available on Facebook and Facebook Messenger and will soon be available on WeChat as well. You can access the game by searching for the FIBA Basketball World Cup Card Battle game in each of the three platforms.
Hosted in the Chinese cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan and Dongguan, the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 is the 18th edition of FIBA’s showpiece event and the first one to be played in a 32-nation format, with the champions set to be crowned on September 15 in Beijing.
