Scottie Wilbekin missed Turkey’s opening game against Japan due to a finger injury. Coach Ufuk Sarica was asked to give more information about the player’s expected debut at the press conference that followed the game.
“It was my decision [for Wilbekin not to play against Japan]. He had a finger problem, but now he’s good. He will play. Maybe on Tuesday, maybe Thursday, I still don’t know, but I think he will be okay”, said Sarica to the press.
Turkey takes over the USA on Tuesday, a challenging game that the team will have to go through without Wilbekin at worse, as his status remains unclear.
