Germany suffered the biggest blow of the tournament after losing to the Dominican Republic 70-68. Coach Henrik Rodl attended the press conference alone, with no participation from his players as the FIBA format suggests.
Rodl only spoke for a couple of minutes, obviously stunned by the defeat, and focused on his team’s bad offensive performance.
“We knew the importance of the game, we prepared as good as possible, we had a lot of respect for this game and the team that we were playing. The game plans were there. We didn’t make some shots in the open, while the Dominican Republic made some tough ones, and that made the difference”, he commented.
