Anadolu Efes guard Vasilije Micic’s mother passed away, the player’s club announced Monday (9/9) morning.
Micic is currently in China for the FIBA World Cup with the Serbian national team. According to Serbian website Sportska Centrala, the player was informed of the death of his mother upon the arrival of the team in the city of Dongguan, where the quarterfinal game of Serbia against Argentina will be played Tuesday (10/9).
It’s quite possible that Micic will return to Serbia to attend his mother’s funeral.
