Lithuania ended its FIBA World Cup journey with a victory against the Dominican Republic. Their last game in the competition also means the end of an era at the bench, as coach Dainius Adomaitis will leave the team. This decision was announced after the disheartening result against France and the last call of the referees that wrongly decided the fate of the game.
“I think players showed on the court that they respect this game. Thank you to the fans, this game was about them. Second thing, I want to say thank you to everyone who sent messages supporting me; coaches, people from the basketball world, and fans. It means a lot to me”, Adomaitis said at the press conference that followed the game.
