Serbia guard Vasilije Micic has decided to remain in with the Serbian national team in China for the World Cup and not return to his home country for the funeral of his mother.
“He has shown greatness and courage and that he has honor. It’s extremely difficult for him but he remains with us,” Serbia coach Sasha Djordjevic said on Micic per Slobodan Sarenac of Serbian RTS.
Micic learned of his mother’s passing when the Serbian national team arrived in Dongguan for the quarterfinals game against Argentina.
