BEIJING – Argentina is in the 2019 FIBA World Cup final and is obliged to thank Luis Scola for Friday’s semifinal win over France. The 39-year-old big had 28 points with 8/17 from the field, 13 rebounds and a couple of dimes in just over 34 minutes.
“Two years ago I said something” reminded Scola after the contest, “This team reminded me of the golden generation in 1999-2000. Many people looked at me like I was crazy. Today, I am not so crazy. We are in the same place as in 2002.”
“I do, I like it, but I deny that. I like to play, do things on the court” he added on offering his experience to his younger teammates, “I feel that I can do it. I feel uncomfortable when they tell me what I can bring in the locker room, on the bench. I came here to play. I am facing an internal conflict. I like to play and that is what I want to do.”
