Argentina is set for the 2019 FIBA World Cup final on Sunday versus Spain following Friday’s semifinal win against France. The third World Cup medal is secured, but Sergio Hernandez is not ready to settle for silver.
“We have faced Spain many times. They respect Argentinian basketball so much and we respect them” he took out previewing Sunday’s final, “I expect an amazing game. Both sides play hard, love to win. Maybe not a really nice match to watch, but surely a really tough game.”
“France plays different from us. They want to play 5 vs. 5. Against USA they did not run at any point. We knew they would have the same plan against Argentina” explained Sergio Hernandez on the semifinal, “We put them in our game. We played the best defense I have ever seen.”
“It is time to believe that we have top players” he added during the post-game press conference commenting on his side, “Campazzo is at the highest level, Deck is also one of the best, Scola is still unbelievable, Laprovittola, Vildoza and Garino are all top-tier players.”
“We knew we had to play great defense to defeat a great team like France” noted Facundo Campazzo, “We did it. We are really happy to be in this position ahead of the final.”
