BEIJING – Rudy Gobert’s opening statement in the press conference was more than sincere.
The French center admitted that Argentina couldn’t be denied: “They were the better team tonight. From the first until the last minute. They were more aggressive. They played more like a team compared to us. They defended, closed the passing lanes. It was total domination”.
Before that, Gobert also spoke to the press and added: “It’s a huge slap, literally and figuratively. They wanted the game more than us. You have seen it from the first minutes. We were really prepared, but they were more aggressive. We couldn’t make adjustments. We fell into their trap”.
