The 2019 FIBA World Cup Final set a new record for the most-watched basketball game ever in Spain.
6,168,000 Spaniards watched their national team winning the second gold medal in the country’s history by beating Argentina in the title game. This number broke the previous record of 6,148,000 spectators for the EuroBasket 2015 Final between Spain and Lithuania. Spain had also won the title then.
The number of 6,168,168 includes only TV viewers and doesn’t take into account those who watched the game via the DAZN internet platform.
