He is one of the biggest talents of Greek basketball and last summer even Panathinaikos had an interest on him. Finally George Papagiannis decided to stay in Peristeri and learn under the guidance of Jimmis Koustenis but from next season, he will be a… pupil of Blair Academy in New Jersey. The 15 year old center has committed to the school that Luol Deng went before commiting to Duke University. When Deng left Sudan (along with his family), he went to London and then he moved to New Jersey and through Blair Academy had the chance to show his talent and get the scholarship from coach Krsyshpefki’s team.

Papagiannis who is born on the 3rd of July of 1997 and is 7’1’’ tall, wants to follow Deng’s footsteps and during Christmas break he will visit his school in New Jersey. Other famous players from Blair Academy are Pistons’ forward Charlie Villanueva and Sixers’ guard Royal Ivey.
