Time for extreme makeover! The days between the two phases of Euroleague are few in comparison with the previous years and the contacts for the additions, which will make the Top 16 teams better, have already began.
Many teams will try to copy Olympiacos’ last season successful moves. But in Euroleague the same phenomenon – change drastically the fate of a team by a midseason transfer – happened only once again in recent history: with the addition of Tomas Van den Spiegel (photo), who helped CSKA to win the Euroleague in 2006.
The Reds made last January (among other things) two changes in their roster, adding Acie Law and Joey Dorsey who skyrocketed them to the title. However, besides the two players who went to Piraeus, Euroleague teams made in total eight more transfers after the end of the regular season. Next to Law and Dorsey, only Lafayette and Bremer managed to be real contributors for their new teams. Here is the list of last season’s major Top16 moves.
