The race for the Greek NT coach is nearing its end and as Eurohoops.net has reported, Joan Plaza is still among the candidates, Andrea Trinchieri emerging as the new favorite and David Blatt doesn’t want to work in the summer

Until the end of the month the quest for the Greek national team coach is expected to end with an official announcement. Eurohoops is following the story and has reported that Katsikaris was the first favorite, before his deal with the Russian federation, then the name of David Blatt became the hottest – but it seems that he doesn’t want to spend one more summer working – and finally Joan Plaza emerged  as the guy for the job.

The Spanish coach of Zalgiris Kaunas is still one of the two remaining candidates, with Cantu’s Andrea Trinchieri being his main opponent. The Greek federation is expected to contact Trinchieri during the next days and soon there will be a final decision. It has to be noted that no Greek coach is left on the run for the job.
