The behavior of Rudy Fernandez in the home game against Zalgiris Kaunas and specially his actions after the final buzzer against Paulius Jankunas were punished by Euroleague. The player has to pay a 3.500 euros fine, after the decision by the independent judge of the competition for his case.

There have been other similar or even worst incidents in the past, but as Eurohoops have reported, this time the actions of Rudy were included in the referees’ report on the score sheet of the game and that made all the difference. This is the first time Euroleague punished a player because of an incident that can be considered bad for the image of the competition and it sets a precedent for any other future occurrence.
