Even if they had planned it, they couldn’t have done a better job. Rudy Gobert (photo) and Mouhammadou Jaiteh are considered the two biggest prospects of French basketball and they are considered a lock in the upcoming NBA draft. Both are under the microscope of NBA teams and their duel for the French cup last Tuesday was a good enough reason for more than half the league to cross the Atlantic.

In total 21 NBA scouts were present in the game between Boulogne-sur-Mer – Cholet (88-80) and they were pleased with what they had seen. Jaiteh had 13 points and 6 rebounds, while Gobert had a double double (14 p., 13 r.).

Along with the scouts a number of high ranking NBA team officials were on the stands like OKC GM Sam Presti, Toronto’s vice president Maurizio Gherardini and Atlanta’s assistant GM Wes Wilcox. Gobert because of his impressive athletic abilities can be chosen even in the lottary, but Jaiteh is considered more refined technically, at least at this point.
