Gazprom to Zalgiris’ rescue

The players of Zalgiris Kaunas have been paid by the two million Lithuanian litas given to the club by the municipality of the city of Kaunas and there will not be a strike in the next Euroleague game, but this sum of money could be just peanuts if the scenario published by krepsinis.net comes to fruition. According to this report, Arvydas Sabonis himself is negotiating with the Russian energy giant Gazprom the possibility of the company backing financially Zalgiris. It will be more than interesting to see such a company getting involved with a Euroleague club.
