The third try of Olympiacos for a replay of their Top16 home game against Siena didn’t have a positive result for the Reds. The court of arbitration for sports (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, decided to dismiss the appeal of the Euroleague champions.
The hearing of the case was held last Friday, Olympiacos, Siena and Euroleague presented their arguments and this time the decision is final, because the verdicts of CAS can’t be appealed in any other court of law. It was the third legal protest by the Reds after two judicial decisions by Euroleague’s judges. As Euroleague announced CAS decided to “upheld the ruling made by the Euroleague Basketball Appeals Judge, thereby terminating the appeals process and finalizing the game result”.
