After NBA, Eurocup, Liga Endesa, LNB’s ProA and Beko BBL, this season Spalding is providing also Euroleague with its balls and the new customized UNITE model was presented in Piraeus by Olympiacos‘ center Kyle Hines.
As he said: “From were I come from, high quality balls are associated with Spalding. It was time for Euroleague to get such a trademark ball. It’s a high quality ball, we have used it in practices the last five or six days and it’s like we had it for a long time. It’s very easy to handle and I hope that it will bring us good luck”.
The unique UNITE design is evident on the side of the ball, where the lines are mimicking hands holding together by the wrist. The idea behind this design is to emphasize the teamwork that it’s also a trademark of Euroleague playing style.
As Eurohoops learned this new black and orange ball is just the start. From next season Spalding will be providing for sale customized UNITE balls in the colors of every Euroleague teams. This is something usual in the NBA, but in Europe it will be a first.
