Olympiacos became the only team which was able to brake a home court advantage at Game 1 of this year’s Euroleague play offs, by beating Montepaschi Siena (75-82). Joey Dorsey was the defensive key of this success, even though until the 34th minute of the game, he was having fouls trouble and… difficulties against David Andersen.
Suddenly, he became… a monster. Why? “My friend, David (ed.note: they had played together with Andersen for Houston Rockets) woke me up. When I had my fourth foul, just after Spanoulis got his fifth, David told to me it was also time for me to have some rest, by having my fifth foul! And that was a great motivation for me”.
Together with Acie Law, Dorsey created a tandem that pushed Olympiacos to victory, when Spanoulis was benched. The American center protected every line and he dominated in the paint, something Bo McCalebb discovered when while he thought he had the chance for an easy lay up at fast break, he had a big stop from Dorsey, who was ready for him: “I knew Acie was playing hurt, so I told him that in every screen we would switch players and he could let Bo come to me. That’s just what happened”
