Since last summer, Panathinaikos is trying to establish a relationship with China which started with the failed effort of the team to sign Guo Ailun. This connection is now official as the Greens announced their agreement with a “Chinese Marketing, Communication and Athletic Company and Athlete’s administration company, based in Shanghai”.
As the press release states: “The goal of this collaboration is breaking into the market and commercial development of the team’s brand name throughout Easter and Southeastern Asia”. However there is one strange detail in the text. The name of the company is not included.
Eurohoops tried to solve the mystery and, according to our sources in China, the most probable answer is the Shanghai based company Zou marketing. It’s the company that also organized the Chinese tours of NBA stars Steve Nash and Allen Iverson.
