Panagiotis Giannakis traveled to France once again on Monday in order to attend the arbitration meeting that Limoges had requested from LNB, concerning his contract with the French club. However his collaboration with the Chinese national team was never under question, as it was reported.
According to sources close to the situation, Limoges seems to be trying to force him into accepting a pay cut, since the club is having financial problems after losing some sponsorships, however Giannakis at this point doesn’t seem willing to accept it. The French side is using as an argument his deal with the Chinese national team and claims that his double duties may affect his obligations with the club.
Still, Giannakis’ contract with Limoges has a clause that permits him to work as a part time coach with a national team and according to his schedule he is expected to be free to return to France in August in order to fully dedicate himself in Limoges’ season. The club issued a press release on Tuesday morning, confirming that the two sides are still at odds.
